We had a very special ballooning week flying over the mountains in January. Filzmoos is a small village about an hour from Salzburg in Austria. Every year they hold the International Balloon Trophy and we have been attending for many years.
As you can see from the photos they had a huge amount of snow – more in the village than we have ever seen before. Although the weather was mixed we managed to do two spectacular flights – both flying right over the Alps, on the first day flying into Italy, almost to Venice and on the second day flying into Slovenia and landing on the outskirts of the capital Ljubjliana.
At the end of the week we were really pleased to find out that we had come second in the competition and were very proud to bring another trophy home!
